In 2005, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) established the Alumni Association Office. In 2014, the BFSU Alumni Association was officially registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, becoming an independent corporate entity. The Secretariat of the BFSU Alumni Association is housed within the Alumni Association Office and operates co-located with it.

The BFSU Alumni Association is a nationwide, united, non-profit social organization with legal person status, voluntarily formed by BFSU alumni. Upholding the mission of "serving the university, serving alumni, and serving society" and the working philosophy of "connecting people, empowering alumni, serving China, and making a global impact," the Alumni Association is dedicated to strengthening ties and exchanges among BFSU alumni worldwide, as well as between alumni and their Alma mater. It serves the broad alumni community, extensively connects with BFSU alumni organizations across the globe, and inspires alumni to carry forward the BFSU spirit while contributing to the development of both their Alma mater and the nation.
